London Fashion Week.

On Thursday I had the best experience ever! I had an amazing opportunity to be a photographer in the photographers pit at LFW. I shot two different catwalks - S/S 15 Trend show and the Designer show that featured clothes from Amanda Wakeley's latest line.

At the beginning of the day we had a talk from a catwalk photographer who worked for an agency. He was so helpful and gave some great tips that were really useful. That was followed by a talk from CPS - Canon professional services , this was also really interesting.

I love fashion and I love photography. This was definitely would one my favourite experiences ever. I cannot wait to continue my journey to becoming a fashion photographer.

A few of my favourite images are shown below...

For those of you who have not been to LFW the photographers pit it located at the end of the catwalk in order for the photographers to be able to get the best out of their images.. As the catwalk enterance was quite far away , I captured my images using my telephoto lens. This gave me the amazing opportunity to shoot close ups of the models faces and accessories rather than just the basic , full body shot we picture when we think of catwalk photography.

Leopard print nails

Everyone loves a splash of leopard print! Recently I took another visit to see Tammy at 'Kiss and Make-up'. I still can't believe how clever she is when it comes to nail art.

Again I had shellac on my nails! It is amazing how steady Tammy is when it comes to creating designs using shellac.
I chose a nude colour and complimented it with a gold and black leopard print design. I chose gold and black as I thought that the warmth of the gold suited this particular shade of nude I had chosen. Black was also chosen because you can never go wrong with black. Whatever outfit is worn, nothing will ever clash!

Kiss and make-up (nails)

I apologise for not posting anything recently.. I have been so busy with applying to university and attending interviews and deadlines etc, I will defo be back on it from now onwards!

Although it was about two weeks ago, I had my nails done at 'Kiss and Make-up beauty treatments'. They are the best nails I have ever had! Instead of going for my usual acrylic nail extensions, I decided to have shellac on my own nail. Tammy at Kiss and Make-up is absolutely amazing! She will tell you what your nail length suits and has the most fab ideas and designs. All the designs are hand done by Tammy herself and she is so talented! I still don't understand how she keeps her hand that steady!

Baring in mind I have had these on for two weeks , they are hardly damaged at all. (Excuse the growth , I didn't have time to post nearer the time that I had them done) however this proves how amazing and long lasting Tammys nails are.

I am so pleased with how my nails have lasted and the service from Kiss and Make-up that I have already booked my next two appointments!
I would definitely recommend going to Kiss and Make-up for your beauty treatments girls!

Keep an eye out for an update on my next visit!

Behind the scenes - Fashion shoot.

*** !!!!!! NEW FILM !!!!!! ***

Over the last few days I have been working on a fashion shoot in order to create a moving image sequence to take to my university interviews. I organised a in studio shoot on Thursday with model Beth in order to start the process of making my moving image.
Beth was a fab model, she loved 'working it' in front of the camera and when organising the shoot, came up with some amazing outfit ideas!

This was one of my favourite outfits worn during the shoot...

LEATHER LEATHER LEATHER

If you haven't guessed already, this whole outfit was made from leather... leather boots, leather shorts, leather top and leather jacket! Sometimes this could be slightly 'OTT' however the combination of pales (t and shorts) contrast against the outer layers of the outfit. The pale colours break up the fact that the whole outfit is made from a harsh material and the multi toned shorts soften the look.

FULL OF SASS.

Beth was great to work with, her confidence behind the camera was amazing! She was up for anything and even when I wasn't telling her what I wanted her to do she would naturally be SASSY , for natural shots.

During my shoot I focused on accessorising outfits and how different accessories and other items of clothing can influence an outfit and play a dress down or dress an outfit up. I found that the most useful item for this was the leather jacket. Dig out your leather and tie it around your waist (as above) to add a modern twist to that cocktail shaped party dress.

Do up your outfit with bold coloured lipsticks and gold hooped earnings! Adding these two factors to any outfit will always look great, however sometimes its nice to have a plainer outfit and accessories it with bold features. That was the features (lipstick and earings) really show up.

Black (cocktail shaped) prom style dress : River island
Leather Jacket : Allsaints
Leather shorts : Urban Outfitters
Full length black dress : Urban Outfitters
Small Tote bag : Ted Baker
Mirror : Ted Baker
Black Boots : River island

999 DIOR.

RED HOT LIPS - DIOR MAKE-UP.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to receive a present from my parents as they returned home from their travels.. this present was only the newest addition to my make-up bag! LIP LINER! I recently updated my make-up bag with all new make-up , a lot of which I received for crimbo! However their was still one important piece missing...

I already had the Dior star foundation, Dior eyeshadow set, Dior Addict IT-LAST mascara, Diorshow iconic over curl, Dior Addict IT-LINE, Dior Addict fluid stick and the Rouge Dior No.999 lipstick ... all I needed now was the No.999 Lip liner!!!

The lip liner is absolutely amazing! It is double ended - one end the pencil and the other a brush, enabling you to apply the lipstick accurately for a perfect finish! This fab little buy also comes with a sharpener for the liner too! Can't go wrong with a bit of Dior in your bag.

I would highly recommend Dior make-up! It is long lasting, gentle feeling and just fab looking in any make-up bag!

The monochrome look.

I know I have only just started this blog, but I just could not wait to share with you all a few images I captured in yesterdays studio shoot.

I had organised this shoot as I have a few interviews in the next month and wanted to make sure my portfolio was up to scratch! However when focusing on fashion photography, is it important to keep consistency though all the images in a shoot - the best way to do this is to think of a theme. Yes you can probably tell by the title of this post, my theme for yesterday was Monochrome!

One of my favourite images from yesterday consisted of my model wearing a black bodied playsuit with white long sleeves. My model had no jewellery on other than her watch , and minimal make-up on in order to look natural. Lauren was wearing mac lipstick - Faux. This 'lippy' would be found in the satin range. Although it isn't a bold colour it compliments her colouring adding warmth to her features - again adding to the monochrome (blank canvas) theme I going for.

A few other faves from yesterdays shoot...

Playsuit : Missguided
Shirt : River Island
Watch : Marc Jacobs
Umbrella : Boots
Lipstick : Mac - Faux
